What Is Crimson Moon?

Crimson Moon is a gothic high-renaissance action-adventure RPG. Steam’s short description: you are a Nephilim, a human-angel hybrid forged to defend humanity, and you fight solo or with a friend through demons and bosses in melee combat. Gematsu reprints the studio overview. Gildenarch has fallen to demons, undead, vampires, and Hellgrowth abominations. Humanity’s last hope is the Order of the Crimson Moon. You reclaim the city through replayable runs, then face bosses the studio names the Dead Gods.

This is not an open-world FromSoftware clone. Polygon, quoting the studio, says ProbablyMonsters wanted a focused experience players could finish over a handful of sessions rather than dozens of hours. Missions run through Gildenarch’s districts. Between expeditions you return to Sanctus Clypeus. Polygon names a veteran Nephilim mentor, a historian, a treasure hunter, and a legendary vampire blacksmith. Steam calls that hub “the Church” and says you plan the next mission from a War Table.

ProbablyMonsters announced the game on February 12, 2026. Games Press carried the Fort Worth, Texas release. GamesBeat adds a boss structure Steam’s about block does not number: three districts in a row unlock a world boss, and the final boss waits until all three world bosses fall. If the War Table prints a different count after launch, trust the client. Gematsu still lists replayable runs, unique executions per enemy type, shared lives in co-op, and angelic transformation. There is no battle pass printed on Steam or Xbox tonight. The play loop both stores print is run, return to church, spend upgrades, pick the next mission.
